I am a critic, editor, and occasional curator, currently based in Los Angeles and Oakland. My writings on art and the politics of place were published as Art after Liberalism by Columbia in 2022 and also appear in academic journals like Afterimage, ASAP, Social Text, and Third Text, as well as art magazines—frieze, i-D, Texte zur Kunst, X-TRA, & Log (special issue: ‘Working Queer’).

 

I am co-editor, with Jason Fox, of World Records, vol. 4: ‘In the Presence of Others' and, since 2021, have been a contributing editor of the Millennium Film Journal. My PhD is from the City University of New York and I was a visiting professor at the Pratt Institute, San Francisco Art Institute, and Stanford University. I now teach in the History of Art & Visual Culture  program at California College of the Arts.
